Griffith Construction was opened in early 2005 after owner Gerald “Chip” Griffith saw the way most contractors do business. He didn’t agree with the way they treated their customers, their suppliers, or the other people they did business with. He had a better idea: To be honest with his customers and other business relations, to offer a quality product at a competitive price, and to always follow up with the customer after the job.
Chip started construction at a very young age, since his father owned his own roofing and siding company. He learned quickly the importance of hard work, quality, and honesty. Working summers and during school vacation, he gained a great deal of know how about roofing, siding, soffit and fascia work. After graduation, Chip took a job with LS Construction, out of Newark DE. At this company, Chip rounded out his construction experience over the next eight years. Eventually, he was promoted to running the entire company, but something was missing. He wanted to do things diffeently, and better. That’s how Griffith Construction was born.

I contracted Chip Griffith to build-closet type cabinets to be used for storage of clothing, shoes, etc. in a room that I am remodeling. During discussion of the job, Chip’s Dad came along for measuring, etc. and was very much involved in the construction of the cabinets. I was told that it would take approximately 6 weeks. The cabinets were done in 6 weeks and installed in less than 1/2 day. The area was cleaned and all debris removed. The custom cabinets are beautiful and they are everything I hoped for. The cabinets a definite complement to the room. Chip is a very professional and efficient person and I would recommend him to anyone for any future jobs. I also liked the fact that his company seems very family oriented.
